Birdy, real name Jasmine van den Bogaerde, 16, went for mature styling, clothes and hair in an exclusive session with Girlfriend Magazine, which hits news stands on Friday.
Her management team say Birdy’s look is more sophisticated— and perfectly timed for a coming world tour. Stylists involved in the shoot wanted to move away from Birdy’s preferred vintage style.
Birdy, discovered on YouTube after her stark performances on piano went viral, had a monster hit last year with a cover of Bon Iver’s song, Skinny Love.
She performs at the Palais Theatre on April 8.
